Whale food

Was going to title this, "Did you hear the one about Jonah and the fig tree...?" but went for the gusto: I feel like whale food. Swallowed whole by this cold, something like Jonah. If it's true as the literalists say that every action (and inaction) carries karma which may come back to you in events like this, then obviously, I'm cooked and served. Maybe for several lifetimes.

Around 5, by the time Joyce picked me up from work, I had a sore throat
and it all went downhill from there. Last night was a leakfest from my nose. Very little sleep. Today, feel like I'm made of lead.

Well, it's hard to argue with enforced down time, especially if there isn't something compelling to do. Sheba got her walks in, the sun is shining, the gardens were watered by last night's rain. Somewhere, someone is feeling inexpressable joy. That is good. I've had mine over the years.

To those of you who have felt useless because of illness, my glass is raised. Let us enjoy our enforced down times as best we can. Let us look after ourselves and be gentle with one another.
